Warsaw University of Technology, Institute of Microelectronics and Optoelectronics

WARSAW UNIVERSITY OF TECHNOLOGY (WUT) is ranked as No. 1 among technical universities in Poland. There are 19 faculties, 2500 employed scientists, and over 33,000 students. Warsaw University of Technology builds upon the traditions of Polish technical universities that used to function in Warsaw. The Polytechnic Institute founded in 1826 thanks to the efforts of Stanisław Staszic and the School of Hipolit Wawelberg and Stanisław Rotwand established in 1895. Warsaw University of Technology started on its own in 1915 thanks to the efforts of the Association for Scientific Courses and the Citizens’ Committee of the City of Warsaw. Working uninterruptedly, the University has been producing generations of graduates and has had an increasing number of scientific and technical achievements. It is not only the oldest, but also the best technical university in Poland; in the ranking of Polish universities, it has taken the first place in its category for nine years. At Warsaw University of Technology, over 180 student research groups, organizations and associations are active, and the educational offer includes more than 30 fields of study (also with English as a medium of instruction).

PORT Polish Center for Technology Development (former EIT+), Nanobioengeenering Laboratory

PORT Polish Center for Technology Development is a research and development organization focused on the development of new technologies by conducting research for the needs and in cooperation with the industry. PORT is a network of specialized scientific-research and technological laboratories as well as measurement and specialist laboratories, which are clustered in 6 research areas: biobank, biotechnology, nanobioengineering, special materials, photonics and electronics, analytics. Each of the areas brings together several specialized laboratories; thanks to this, a given area can focus on selected scientific and technological issues and carry out both scientific and research work as well as pilot research for industry in a comprehensive way. All laboratories of the PORT Polish Center for Technology Development are equipped with the highest-class research equipment which allows conducting application research while maintaining the highest quality standards.

Medical University of Lublin

The Medical University of Lublin was formed by the Cabinet’s decree on 24 October 1949. It conducts research tasks, educates students and doctoral candidates in the field of medical, pharmaceutical and health sciences. Moreover the University participates in exercising the medical care on the basis of self-contained public healthcare centers. The Medical University of Lublin is divided into four faculties: I Faculty of Medicine with Dentistry Division, II Faculty of Medicine with English Language Division, Faculty of Pharmacy with Medical Analytics Division and Faculty of Nursing and Health Sciences. Currently, almost 7.000 people, over 1.000 of whom are foreign students from as many as 53 countries, are enrolled on degree courses.

The University of Life Sciences in Lublin is a multi-profile higher education institution, which integrates a wide range of agricultural, biological, veterinary, technical and socioeconomic sciences. Wroclaw Medical University

Wroclaw Medical University is currently the largest in Lower Silesian Voivodeship with over 100,000 graduates since 1945 including some 1,900 researchers among whom many received the highest awards for their contribution to the development of scientific scholarship.The University of Wrocław is renowned for its relatively high quality of teaching, placing 44th on the QS University Rankings: EECA 2016,and is located in the same campus as the former University of Breslau, which produced 9 Nobel Prize winners.

Institute of Immunology and Experimental Therapy

Institute of Immunology and Experimental Therapy was founded in 1952 by the Polish Academy of Sciences. The main founder and the first director of the Institute was Professor Ludwik Hirszfeld, famous Polish immunologist and microbiologist.
